COMMERCIAL AND DOMESTIC DOOR LOCKS
At Brinnick Locksmiths & Security Limited, we stock an extensive range of door locks. If your specific model is not currently in stock, we can typically source it for next-day delivery. As the variety of locks available on the market is vast, with different specifications required for various applications, this page provides a general overview of the most common systems. For further assistance or expert recommendations, please contact Brinnick Locksmiths & Security Limited by phone or email.

2 AND 3-LEVER LOCKS
Two and three-lever sashlocks and deadlocks generally provide a low level of security and are typically only suitable for internal doors. These locks often have a key number stamped on the bow, as there may be as few as 30 different key variations for a specific model. While rebate sets are available for use on double doors, 2 and 3-lever locks should never be installed on any external door.

5-LEVER LOCKS
The current British Standard for 5-lever mortice locks is BS3621, which mandates a 20mm bolt throw for enhanced security. To comply with modern insurance requirements, all locks fitted to external doors should meet or exceed this standard. We stock 5-lever locks from trusted brands including Chubb, Era, Legge, Union, Yale, and Ingersoll. Our workshop can "key alike" many of these ranges for your convenience. For added peace of mind, we also provide the Chubb RKS registered key system, which uses a restricted profile to prevent unauthorised duplication.

CYLINDER SASHLOCKS AND DEADLOCKS
Cylinder sashlocks and deadlocks offer versatile security options by allowing you to select a lockcase that meets your specific requirements. You can then pair it with your preferred cylinder type, ranging from standard keys to high-security registered systems such as Mul-T-Lock or Chubb M3. This flexibility extends to your choice of door furniture, with options including traditional brass, aluminium, or commercial-grade stainless steel. To explore these options further, we can carry out a free security survey at your premises. Alternatively, please visit our Newport Pagnell showroom to view our extensive range of locks, cylinders, and architectural ironmongery in person.
COMMERCIAL SECURITY LOCKS
Chubb offers a range of "Detainer" commercial security locks, available with either a standard 5-detainer key or the restricted Chubb RKS System. Given the elevated burglary risk for commercial premises, the BS3621 British Standard remains a common insurance requirement. However, many insurers may mandate additional security measures, such as safes, grilles, or alarm systems, as a condition of cover. If you have any queries regarding your current hardware and insurance policy compliance, please contact us for expert guidance.
RIM CYLINDER NIGHTLATCHES
Rim cylinder nightlatches are available in a variety of designs, from the basic Yale 77 to the high-security Chubb London Line deadlatch. Commonly referred to as a "Yale" lock, the lock body is mounted on the internal surface of the door and operated by a cylinder passing through the door. A standard nightlatch should always be paired with a 5-lever lock on external doors, as a basic nightlatch alone can be vulnerable to forced entry. Both Chubb and Yale offer an excellent range of security cylinder rim deadlatches. These units are tested to BS3621, ensuring they meet the stringent requirements mandated by most insurance policies.

RIM LOCKS
Rim locks are surface-mounted units fitted to the internal face of a door, locking into a box keep secured to the frame. While these locks provide limited security, they remain widely used for sheds, outbuildings, and period properties. We stock a comprehensive range of rim locks and provide a specialist service to cut or manufacture new keys for older locks already installed on your property.
